Over the past year or two i have been very unhappy with my website host, the server goes down, their support is horrible and i have had many issues, for instence, today (9/30/2007) none of my three sites are up and no one can tell me why. So what im getting at is,
I am thinking of switching services. This would mean that the site would be down for a week or two until i could get the new one up. The domain should stay the same, and the forum will not change. Once the site is back up i will post all and any of the missed Parables of an Eppie pages. Hopefully no postings will be missed.
I think if i choose to go with a new provider it will only make the site better, plus i would be able to add an online store so everyone can get there t-shirts, books, and other swag easier.
Ill let you know if i decide to do it, so far im really leaning towards it.

Now I can get to one of them, but then it asks me to log in, and the prompt won't go away, so I'm stuck there with the page partly loaded.
Here's you problem - your host is using Microsoft-IIS/6.0 with MicrosoftOfficeWebServer: 5.0_Pub "powered by" ASP.NET, not very secure or reliable.

LOL... ;D
Dont pull a Brittney Spears on us...you can make it.
Ok so the site is back up and due to the six months i still have under contract with GISOL i need to stay with them. Atleast until the contract is up. If i were to switch now i would loose my domain names (very upset).
But i want to make sure the site is great quality, so sometime in the future i will be changing providers. Thanks for the knowledge Epiphytic, it helped in my research for new providers. Hopefully we wont have anymore problems befor ei can make the switch, again i apologize for the down time.

It might cost slightly more, but buying your domain and registering it with a DNS service (for instance, DYNDNS.COM) gives you the flexibility to move it to any host at any time, including hosting subdomains (www.theeppies.com, store.theeppies.com could be hosted by two different companies, you just point your domain to them instead of having them own your domain, for example).
Some people insist on updating their web pages by using Microsoft FrontPage, which does a bad job of making compliant web code, so hosts with "FrontPage extentions" are attractive, but usually require the host to run IIS.
There are a lot of options out there, and may be trade-offs to each one. It looks like with SiteStudio, you're locked into their product, and can not edit your web page any other way, so your site inherits all the quirks for that particular program. For instance, SiteStudio relies heavily on java to use it and the program must be installed on your (host's) server.
Anyway, glad it's working - now I can see the new color panel and catch up on the web-comic reading.
